Providing in-home care allows our patients to maintain their comfort and familiarity during the time of hospice care. With the Medicare part A benefit, out of pocket fees for all aspects of Hospice care will be little to nothing. Certain medication may be prescribed to patients to treat pain and manage symptoms, Medicare sometimes includes a small copayment for prescription drugs. Medicare includes in-home care, and depending on the needs of a patient.
Westlake Village includes palliative care in order to relieve suffering in patients and to provide comfort. Palliative Care is important and focuses solely on relieving symptoms in patients. Unlike Palliative Care, Hospice adds a strong focus to the patient’s emotional, social, and spiritual well-being, while also providing assistance with the patient’s day-to-day life. Although Palliative Care is an aspect of Hospice, Westlake Village Hospice is more than simply palliative care.
