The Medicare Hospice benefit covers nearly all costs of hospice care. Westlake Village Hospice accepts Medicare insurance. Medicare provides a one-time consultation to discuss options for care with a medical professional. Once your hospice care begins, Medicare will cover everything you need. We strive to make Hospice accessible for our patients and their families. Westlake Village Hospice is an outpatient hospice service that offers individualized in-home care for patients in Simi Valley, Oxnard, Valencia, Moorpark, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Culver City, Long Beach, Pasadena, Monrovia, and Newhall.

Providing in-home care allows our patients to maintain their comfort and familiarity during the time of hospice care. With the Medicare part A benefit, out of pocket fees for all aspects of Hospice care will be little to nothing. Certain medication may be prescribed to patients to treat pain and manage symptoms, Medicare sometimes includes a small copayment for prescription drugs. Medicare includes in-home care, and depending on the needs of a patient. Medicare will cover any of the following services:

Westlake Village includes palliative care in order to relieve suffering in patients and to provide comfort. Palliative Care is important and focuses solely on relieving symptoms in patients. Unlike Palliative Care, Hospice adds a strong focus to the patient’s emotional, social, and spiritual well-being, while also providing assistance with the patient’s day-to-day life. Although Palliative Care is an aspect of Hospice, Westlake Village Hospice is more than simply palliative care.
